Amy White, Clarinet

Amy White, clarinetist, holds a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance and Pedagogy from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Music from Wheaton College. An active teacher and performer, her primary teachers were Leslie Grimm and Mel Warner. Amy has performed with many area orchestras, including the Elmhurst Symphony, Chicago Philharmonia, Classical Symphony and Lakeshore Symphony. As a student, Amy was winner of the both the Wheaton College and Northern Illinois University Concerto Competitions. Reflecting her interest in 20th-century repertoire, she performed Lutoslawski’s Dance Preludes and Bolcom’s Concerto for Clarinet, respectively.

Amy worked for seven years in the Enrollment and Student Services Office at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, the last two as Assistant Dean. She is currently Vice President of Operations for OpusFocus, Inc.
